A modern alternative to the
traditional canvas
wedding marquees are the American style
pole tents which have PVC roofs and walls (instead of
canvas) and they often incorporate aluminium centre and side poles.
These tents come in a wide variety of styles, some with
peaked roofs or twin peaks and can look stunning when new
and clean. These American style tents tend to be more expensive
to rent due to the high purchase cost, shipping and import
duties from the US.
Traditional
marquees (canvas wedding marquees) and the American style tents both require slightly more space;
you should allow around
3M on all sides for the guy ropes and they can only be
erected on a fairly level grass site.
Aluminium frame
wedding marquees (or
clear span marquees) can be erected on almost any surface
and many wedding marquee hire contractors offer various
flooring systems for hard surfaces.
